Under our clubs continuous healthcare initiative, celebrated ophthalmologist and RCCJ member Dr. Asim Sil, together with his clinical team at the Vivekananda Mission Ashram Netra Niramay Niketan, completed critical post-operative evaluations for a glaucoma patient from our adopted beneficiary family in Berachampa. This focused medical assessment ensures the success of their surgical intervention and protects the patient against further vision loss. We also screened other glaucoma patients. World Thalassemia Day Celebration - PoliceHospital

On the occasion of World Thalassemia Day, our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Calcutta Universe and Life Beyond Cancer - A Rotary Initiative, organized a vibrant and heartwarming event Thalassemia affected kids at the Kolkata Police Hospital. RCCJ arranged and sponsored a magic show alongside a puppet performance and talent showcase. Hospital staff joined the event. This assessment-driven psychosocial support offered vital emotional strength to multiple transfusion-dependent beneficiaries.

Spending time with dementia patients- no photos

Two members of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) conducted a specialised community outreach visit to Sriti Sudha, a dedicated daycare centre for elderly individuals living with dementia, run by the Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI), Calcutta Chapter. Our members spent quality time engaging with the residents, fostering emotional connections, and actively participating alongside them in a scheduled dance therapy session. One of our members performed a dance to actively engage the elderly residents. This hands-on involvement supported the centres holistic therapeutic interventions, which use rhythm and movement to stimulate cognitive function and enhance emotional well-being. To respect patient privacy and maintain strict dignity of care, no photographs were taken, keeping the focus entirely on compassionate, meaningful presence.

Sports Needs Assessment & Football Donation

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur successfully hosted the engaging "Shobdo Jobdo" (Word Puzzle) competition at Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith. Six Rotarians from our club were present, actively supporting the event. This intellectually stimulating activity effectively challenged the students vocabulary and quick thinking. The enthusiastic participation and the presence of our members ensured the event was a resounding success, underscoring our commitment to supporting mental and educational activities within the community.

At SRABV, RCCJ organised an impactful interactive session featuring renowned nutritionists and our own member, Rtn. Paromita Das Dutta. They provided students with vital guidance on nutritional choices and lifestyle management. This initiative reinforces our dedication to empowering the student community with the knowledge for a healthier future.

Assessment&prize distribution for cultural program

The cultural program at Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith concluded with a formal assessment and prize distribution. Rotarians evaluated diverse cultural performances. Excellence was recognised with awards and certificates, fostering confidence and artistic growth. We remain committed to empowering girl students through holistic education.

Cooking competition,assessment & award ceremony

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur witnessed and judged a unique and educational nutrition competition at Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyalaya on October 31, 2025. Girls from four different houses prepared traditional dishes like dudh puli, dahi vada, ghughni, and payesh, and then expertly explained the nutritional value of each to us. The students knowledge and culinary skills were exceptional, making the final ranking extremely difficult. Our club acknowledges Headmistress Sarbani Sen for actively mentoring the children. The event was highly engaging, and all six Rotarians present enjoyed the day, confirming the projects success in promoting holistic education."

Sewing Machine Donation to Mandira Foundation

To empower local women with sustainable livelihood opportunities, RCCJ donated two sewing machines to the Mandira Foundation in Bankura. This vocational service project provides underprivileged individuals with the essential tools needed for financial independence and skill development.

Online Mental Health Awareness Session on Dementia

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur hosted a highly informative and engaging online session on mental health. The session, led by renowned expert Mrs. Nilanjana Maulik, focused on the critical topic of Dementia and Alzheimers disease. Mrs Maulik provided valuable insights and practical information on the causes, symptoms, and care strategies related to these conditions. The interactive format allowed members and guests to ask questions directly, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by patients and their caregivers.

"Shobde Jobdo" competition for LBC volunteers

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) brought a spark of joy to the Spring Club this past Saturday by organizing "Shobde Jobdo" for the dedicated LBC volunteers. Designed as a gesture of appreciation for their tireless service, this brilliantly crafted word puzzle and quiz game turned the evening into an electric celebration of wit and laughter.Beyond the competitive fun, the program featured insightful reflections from core members on the journey ahead. A deeply moving highlight was the official felicitation, where RCCJ joined in recognizing the massive, selfless impact of these volunteers.

Eye camp at RCC Chowbaga

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) reactivated the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Chowbaga by organising a comprehensive eye check-up camp for the local community. A team of expert ophthalmologists from the Amulya Jyoti Eye Foundation conducted thorough examinations for 33 underprivileged individuals to identify vision impairments and eye health issues. During the camp, patients diagnosed with cataracts were identified for further medical intervention to prevent avoidable blindness. These individuals will now receive cataract surgeries at the Amulya Jyoti Eye Foundation completely free of cost as part of this ongoing service initiative.

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) launched a critical awareness initiative to address the high prevalence of Thalassemia in West Bengal, where nearly 10% of the population is silent carriers. The campaign highlights that when both partners are carriers, there is a 25% risk of their child developing a severe, lifelong blood disorder. To combat this, the club released an expert-led video detailing clinical insights and the necessity of pre-marital screening.

Awareness Campaign at RYLA at Budge Budge

Fighting hereditary glaucoma via genetic screening

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) participated in a consultation at Jadavpur University with the University of Salford (UK) to integrate genetic screening into glaucoma care. The session addressed the needs of 11 million affected Indians, proposing that genetic testing be included in state guidelines for patients under 40. RCCJ contributed practical insights from its ongoing support of families dealing with hereditary vision loss to emphasise the importance of early intervention. This collaboration seeks to establish pilot counselling units in government hospitals to prevent blindness in children, aligning with national health frameworks.

Distributing spectacles to 7 students

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) visited SRABV on 6th March, 2026, to complete the follow-up phase of the eye screening camp held on January 2, 2026. During the initial camp led by PP Rtn. Dr Partha Pratim Roy identified seven students with refractive errors requiring corrective lenses. High-quality spectacles were distributed to the seven identified students. The club sponsored the total cost of the frames and lenses as the families were unable to afford them. Correcting these visual impairments ensures the students can participate fully in classroom activities without strain.

A major focus of the session was an appeal to parents regarding the importance of the HPV vaccine, encouraging them to provide consent for their daughters vaccination to ensure long-term health protection.

Sending Aid to Flood Victims in North Bengal

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur swiftly responded to the North Bengal floods by launching a critical aid collection project. We successfully mobilised members to contribute old clothes, medicines (including anti-diarrhoeal, antibiotics, and Paracetamol), and monetary donations for dry food such as chira and gur. Members dropped off items at designated points, and we arranged for a reliable contact to transport the aid directly to North Bengal, ensuring proper and timely distribution to affected victims.

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur successfully concluded its Vocational Training in Tailoring at Sarenga, Bankura, on November 8th. A team of six club members visited the site to oversee the final program. During the visit, Rotarians observed a live tailoring class session, demonstrating the high level of skill acquired by the beneficiaries. Following the session, the club formally conducted the assessment and distributed certificates to the deserving women. This project confirms our commitment to skill development and directly equips the women of Sarenga for economic independence.

Co-hosting District World Polio Day Celebration

Members of our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur proudly co-hosted a significant district project for World Polio Day at Rotary Sadan. Rtn. Manas Ghosh attended the event, which was highlighted by a key address from Dr Amitava Sarkar (WHO) and the inspiring presence of PDG Mukul Sinha. A major part of the program featured Rita Mondal, a health worker and Presidents Award winner, who shared her remarkable 30-year journey of delivering polio vaccinations. We received an acknowledgement from the Lead Host Clubs for our support, and the event also included speeches from young Interact members, underscoring our unified commitment to ending polio.

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur visited the Mandira Foundation in Sarenga, Bankura, with six club members in attendance. The club donated a Water Filter to the foundation, ensuring access to safe drinking water for the children. Mandira Foundation is an essential local NGO that provides free tuition and free tiffin to children of rural Bengal of Sarenga, Bankura. By supporting their basic needs and education, and fostering cultural roots, the foundation empowers holistic development. This project aligned our clubs goals for both disease prevention (safe water) and educational support for the community.

Six club members were present to donate Goats to two deserving families. Heath awareness campaign for deaf & dumb children

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur collaborated with Disability Activists Forum WB to organise an awareness campaign for differently-abled people through a cultural program by differently abled people. The event took place in front of the Simpark Mall, New Market. Food packet was distributed to the differently-abled people who attended the event. There are opportunities to explore how our club could support such people in the future.

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur donated 27 pieces of used clothing to underprivileged people in Sarenga, Bankura. The used clothes were collected from some of our club members and carried to Sarenga.

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) participated in the National Science Day program organised at the Nabin Manua Iswar Chandra High School in Daspur in the district of West Midnapore. The event included seminars, debates, and poster competitions focused on scientific awareness. Our member, Dr Chitra Mandal, addressed the students on health education and disease prevention. She specifically discussed measures to combat Thalassemia and shared insights on Cervical Cancer awareness. Her session focused on the responsibility of students in spreading health literacy within their communities. The program concluded with discussions on the history of Indian women in science and the importance of scientific thinking in daily life. The unique music video on Thalassemia created by RC Calcutta Jadavpur was played at the program. 142 students from 8 schools participated in the event.

Glaucoma monitoring camp for needy families

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) is committed to its mission fight for sight. We organised another glaucoma monitoring camp as part of our ongoing monthly project. A team from our club visited Jibanpur, near Berachampa, where our club member Dr. Asim Sil, tested the eyes of a family that is battling a severe hereditary strain of Glaucoma. Since the disease is genetic, the children of the family remain under the constant, vigilant monitoring of Dr Sil. His proactive approach ensures that at the slightest clinical sign of increased intraocular pressure, immediate intervention begins—effectively halting the progression of blindness before it starts. RCCJ continues to bridge the gap by covering all travel and logistical expenses, ensuring the family has access to the treatment.

HPV vaccinations to over 85 young girls

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RID 3291) successfully executed a landmark health initiative, providing life-saving Cervical Cancer (HPV) vaccinations to over 85 young girls at Sri Ramkrishno Ananda Ashram Girls High School. This project stood as a masterclass in teamwork and multi-party coordination, bringing together various stakeholders to safeguard the future of these students. The success of the drive was the result of a seamless collaboration between the School authorities, #Setu, #RCCJ, #RotaryClubBelur, #ChittaranjanNationalCancerInstitute, and the #SerumInstitute. The foundation for this achievement was laid by Sharmila Sengupta, whose impactful awareness sessions ensured a high level of community trust and participation. We also extend our gratitude to Partha Sarkar for initiating the lead and managing the critical early-stage coordination.

Providing Free Tuition To 18 Street Children

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) has launched a dedicated educational intervention for the residents of SOUL Children’s Home. This organization performs the noble task of rescuing and rehabilitating street children—providing them with a safe haven, nutritious meals, and formal schooling. RC Calcutta Jadavpur is providing free tuition to all the students of this home. The fees of the tutor is being borne by RC Calcutta Jadavpur.

Cervical Cancer Awareness at SRAAGirls HighSchool

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) successfully conducted a vital health awareness session focused on Cervical Cancer as part of our ongoing commitment to Disease Prevention and Treatment. The session targeted young female students at Sri Ramkrishno Ananda Ashram Girls High School to prioritize preventative healthcare. Our club member, Rtn. Dr. Sharmila Sengupta, conducted an in-depth awareness talk, educating students on the risks of Cervical Cancer and the life-saving importance of early vaccination. To move from awareness to action, the club distributed Vaccination Consent Forms to all participating students to collect the completed consent forms within the coming days, paving the way for a dedicated HPV Vaccination Camp at the school premises.

Raj Bhavan tour for BCWH School

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur organised an inspiring guided educational tour of the majestic Kolkata Raj Bhawan on 24th January. A group of 50 students and 10 teachers from Behala Childrens Welfare High School had the rare opportunity to explore the historic halls and heritage of the Governors residence, turning a lesson in history into a lived experience. It was truly a great experience to witness the students enthusiasm as they walked through the corridors of history, creating memories that will surely inspire their future academic journeys.

Science Club at Udbhas

On 17th January, our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur hosted our latest Science Club session at Udbhas in Jodhpur Park, transforming a Saturday afternoon into an exploration of discovery. ​The session was led by our esteemed member, Rtn. Dr. Dipankar Chakraborti, whose expertise turned complex concepts into engaging, relatable lessons. Through his guidance, the students were encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and understand the practical science that surrounds us every day. ​By investing in these interactive sessions, RCCJ remains committed to supporting education and empowering the next generation of thinkers and innovators. Blanket Distribution at Kumirmari, Sundarbans

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) launched a Winter Relief mission in Kumirmari, as temperatures dropped across the riverine belts of the Sundarbans. Our club distributed high-quality blankets to the elderly residents and underprivileged families of the village to provide immediate protection against the harsh winter chill. The gratitude expressed by the elders served as a powerful reminder of how vital direct community service is for remote populations.

To support the youth of the ecologically sensitive Sundarbans region, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) conducted a special outreach at Kumirmari School. Recognizing that access to resources is a major hurdle for remote students, our club donated essential educational equipment to enhance their daily learning environment. This initiative aims to encourage these bright young minds to pursue their academic goals despite the geographical challenges they face.

Psychological Counselling at SRABV

At the Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith our club organized an insightful Session on Emotional Wellbeing for the students of Class VIII and Class IX, highlighting the importance of mental resilience in young girls. Rtn. Sourish Choudhury from RC Calcutta Newbies, a renowned mental wellness councilor, conducted the session. The session focused on managing academic stress, building self-confidence, and understanding emotional intelligence. ​Students participated actively, discussing the challenges they face and learning practical coping mechanisms to maintain a balanced mind.

Eye camp at Rishi Aravinda, Santoshpur

On 02-Jan-26 (Friday) our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) delivered two service projects, both at the Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith. We conducted a comprehensive Eye Check-up Camp to ensure the visual health of students of Class VIII. The camp was spearheaded by our club member PP Rtn. Dr. Partha Pratim Roy, supported by a skilled optometrist from his team. ​Around 35 students underwent thorough vision testing. The team identified cases of refractive errors and other common eye conditions. 7 students need glasses. Our club is planning to provide the glasses as they students wont be able to afford the glasses themselves.

Visit to LBC Helpdesk for students from SRABV

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) facilitated a heartwarming exposure visit for 6 students and 2 teachers from Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith (SRABV) to the LBC Helpdesk at SSKM on 8th January, 2026. The students learned the operational flow of the helpdesk, gaining insight into hospital-based social services. The SRABV students interacted warmly with the admitted children, exchanging greetings and spending quality time with them. As a gesture of solidarity, the visiting students distributed drawing books, colour pencils, pens, and biscuits to the children, sparking many smiles. The experience was deeply moving for the students and teachers alike. By bridging the gap between schoolroom learning and real-world social service, RCCJ is helping to nurture a sense of empathy and professional responsibility in these young students.

Old warm cloth distribution at Sarenga, Bankura

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) successfully executed a community service project involving the distribution of old warm clothing to residents in Sarenga, Bankura District on 15th December, 2025. The donated warm clothes were carefully sorted and transported to Sarenga, where the distribution was carried out smoothly to ensure maximum reach and impact among those in need. This project directly addressed a pressing need for winter protection in the rural areas of Bankura.

Christmas Celebration with Thallassemia Affected K

"Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) actively supported the Christmas celebration for the Thalassemia-affected kids at Kolkata Police Hospital. The program was organised by Life Beyond Cancer (LBC). The program included fruit distribution, cake distribution, Santa Claus cap distribution, blanket distribution, musical performance, magic show and more. Our club sponsored the magic show that brought pleasant surprises and laughter to the kids. The Principal of the Kolkata Police Hospital, Dr. Partha De, District Governor Dr. Ramendu Homchaudhuri and our very own club member & LBC Chair Rtn. Partha Sarkar was present at the program, along with several distinguished doctors, nurses, and staff of the Police Hospital and the LBC volunteer team from different Rotary clubs. "

Science exhibition in association with 36th

Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur participated in a school students’ science exhibition organised by the Sonarpur Book Fair Organising Committee, held at the Ardhendu Sekhar Bose Science Park, Sonarpur Club Samannay Samiti, Sonarpur Railway Colony. Around 25 students from different schools presented their scientific models and explained them to the best of their abilities. The enthusiasm and potential of the students were truly commendable. Our members served as judges for the exhibition. They asked several questions, most of which were answered confidently and thoughtfully by the students. Members of the club handed over mementoes and prizes to the winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions). By engaging with students in language and science, we continue to foster a generation that values both tradition and technological progress. In addition, RCCJ distributed food packets to the participating students.

Shobdanwesi - Bengali Word Game at Sonarpur Book F

"Our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur (RCCJ) marked a significant milestone by associating for the first time with the 36th edition of the Sonarpur Book Fair. RCCJ got associated with for the first time in a captivating episode that was something worthy of learning, highlighting its nature as suitable for education or imparting knowledge & values. Sabda Jabda (শব্দ জব্দ), the popular Bengali quiz show curated by Sabdanweshi (শব্দান্বেষী) for the reclamation of the dwindling Bengali language. As many as 50 students from various schools in and around Rajpur Sonarpur participated in Sabda Jabda. Food packets are distributed among the children. "

Support for Senior Citizens with Dementia

Three members of RCCJ visited elderly people with Dementia at Sriti Sudhay, the Daycare Centre run by the Alzheimer’s & Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI), Calcutta Chapter. We spent time with the inmates and participated in their ongoing therapy activities. The Secretary General of ARDSI, Calcutta Chapter, Nilanjana Maulik shared some of her interesting experiences. We discussed the possibility of taking the people with dementia to a pre-school run by our member Rtn. Pausali Paul to attend the Christmas celebration. As a token of compassion, we took some sweets and biscuits for the patients and caregivers. In order to abide by the guidelines maintained by ARDSI, only three members were allowed to visit at a time. This was a great experience for the members who visited the day care.

Puja Pandal Visit and Lunch for Senior Citizens

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur co-hosted with other Rotary Clubs and organized a heartwarming community service project to bring the joy of the Durga Puja festival to 55 senior citizens. They were taken on a special guided tour to visit various Puja Pandals, allowing them to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere. Following the successful outing, the club provided a complimentary lunch for all the participants. This initiative reinforces the clubs commitment to serving the elderly and bringing light to their lives during the festive season.

New Clothes Distribution for Underprivileged Kids

On September 27, 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur carried out a critical service project in the Sundarbans, collaborating with the non-profit organisation Kheya. The project focused on distributing new clothes to children from underprivileged families in the remote area of Pathar Pratima, South 24 Parganas. The distribution drive was held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ramakrishna Sarada Seva Niketan. Our collaboration with Kheya ensured the successful reach and execution of this project, highlighting our clubs commitment to improving the lives of children in vulnerable communities, especially during the festive season.

On September 21, 2025 (Sunday), our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur distributed new clothes and goodies to 59 kids from economically challenged tribal families at the Bagmari village near Midnapore Town. Most of these kids do not get any new clothes during Durga Puja. Our club collaborated with a couple of benevolent families of Midnapore Town to carry out this service project.

We collected 128 kgs of waste from the beach on that day. This large-scale initiative, with the theme "जल जन, स्वच्छ स्वस्थ" (Water People, Clean Healthy), brought together several key collaborators. Our club partnered with the Nature Club of the University of Calcutta and Howrah Vigyan Chetna Samannaya to organize the event. We also collaborated with the National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), highlighting a unified effort to protect our coastline. The project aimed to clean the coastal areas and raise public awareness about the urgent need for environmental conservation. Our Immediate Past President, Rtn. Dr. Mainak Sengupta took the lead in this project. We are proud to contribute to this impactful and vital cause.

On August 9, 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur organized a guided, insightful tour of Kolkatas historic Raj Bhavan for 45 trainees and staff members from the Smart Centre of Tech Mahindra Foundation. This project was single-handedly arranged by our beloved Rtn. Sikha Mukherji, who conceptualized and guided the tour. This educational and enriching experience was a great success, showcasing our commitment to vocational and community development.

Saree Distribution to Sex Workers at Sonagachi

On August 28, 2025 (Thursday), our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur collaborated with the Inner Wheel Club of Jadavpur for a joint service project in the red light area of Sonagachi. This initiative was focused on supporting sex workers and their school-going children. Our club, RC Calcutta Jadavpur, distributed sarees to 35 sex workers for the celebration of Durga Puja, while the Inner Wheel Club provided educational supplies and tiffin money to their children. Five members of our club participated in this project. We had the opportunity to learn about the daily lives and challenges faced by this often-overlooked segment of society.

On September 1, 2025, we partnered with P.P. Hospital for a blood donation camp in Uluberia, Howrah. A local news channel called Uluberia TV covered the project and highlighted our support for thalassemia patients, encouraging more donors and contributing to this life-saving cause. Thanks to this media coverage the public image of Rotary was boosted.

On September 1, 2025, our Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur successfully collaborated with P. P. Hospital & Diagnostic Centre for a blood donation camp in Uluberia, Howrah. This initiative aims to support children and individuals suffering from thalassemia, who require regular blood transfusions for survival. This service project was a great success, and we are proud to have contributed to such a life-saving cause.

Educational Tour to Kolkata Raj Bhavan

On August 16, 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur organized a guided tour of Kolkatas Raj Bhavan for 38 students and 5 teachers from Santoshpur Rishi Aurobindo Balika Vidyapith. This special project, originally conceived by our late member Rtn. Sikha Mukherji, was carried out in her honor. Her daughter, Sayoni, joined us to ensure the programs success. Due to Raj Bhavans strict security rules and participant limits, this event was exclusive. It was a great success, offering a unique and educational experience for all. We are proud to have completed this meaningful project in memory of a truly beloved Rotarian.

Goodies Distribution to Children Admitted At ICH

On the occasion of Independence Day, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur carried out a service project at the Institute of Child Health. The primary goal was to bring a moment of joy to the children admitted to the hospital. A team of five club members distributed drawing books, colour boxes, and chocolates to 120 children. Ms Karobi De of the LBC (Life Beyond Cancer) team was also present to support the initiative. The children and their mothers were very happy to receive the gifts.

On August 15, 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur held a service project in response to an invitation from Udbhas Children Welfare Organization to celebrate Independence Day and bring joy to the children of the organisation. A group of seven club members attended the celebration at Udbhas. They participated in the formal flag hoisting ceremony and a cultural program, enjoying the performances by the children. Following the ceremony, members distributed pouch bags and chocolates to 70 children.

Clothes Distribution to Special Children at Srijon

RCCJ members had a heartwarming visit to Srijon Sova, a home for special children in Thakdari. The project aimed to provide clothes to the children. Club members collected, washed, and ironed a collection of clothes, which were then distributed to the children at Srijon Sova. The founder and their dedicated team shared insights into their journey and the childrens daily lives, which was an incredibly moving experience for everyone present. The visit was a humbling and impactful experience for our members and the members were grateful for the opportunity to support Srijon Sova.

Doctor Recognition on Doctors Day

In honor of Doctors Day, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur acknowledged the selfless contributions of three dedicated doctors: Dr. Arup Ratan Dutta, Dr. Asim Sil, and Dr. Arunava Das. As a token of our appreciation, each doctor was presented with an indoor plant, a box of sweets, and a card. This service project successfully celebrated their vital role in our community, aligning with Rotary’s commitment to service and well-being.

Mental Health Support to Senior Citizens

On July 1, 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur made a heartwarming visit to Aumorto - senior living, to spend some time with senior citizens living there. Meaningful time was spent conversing with residents, sharing their stories. Members were treated to wonderful hospitality by the residents.

Tree Plantation @ Future Foundation Sports Complex

On July 1, 2025, RC of Calcutta Jadavpur began its new Rotary Year (2025-26) with a tree plantation drive at the Future Foundation School sports ground, where members successfully planted around 50 Debdaru saplings to support environmental conservation.
