On September 20, 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur proudly participated in the International Coastal Cleanup Day at Sagar Island, West Bengal. We collected 128 kgs of waste from the beach on that day. This large-scale initiative, with the theme "जल जन, स्वच्छ स्वस्थ" (Water People, Clean Healthy), brought together several key collaborators. Our club partnered with the Nature Club of the University of Calcutta and Howrah Vigyan Chetna Samannaya to organize the event. We also collaborated with the National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR), highlighting a unified effort to protect our coastline. The project aimed to clean the coastal areas and raise public awareness about the urgent need for environmental conservation. Our Immediate Past President, Rtn. Dr. Mainak Sengupta took the lead in this project. We are proud to contribute to this impactful and vital cause.
