For the past three years, Rotary Club of Calcutta Jadavpur has been supporting an impoverished glaucoma-affected family from Berachampa, where nearly 40% of members across five generations have suffered from glaucoma and all affected individuals lost vision in one or both eyes. The club facilitates regular screening, genetic diagnosis, medication, surgery, and patient logistics under the leadership of Rtn. (Dr.) Asim Sil at Netra Niramay Niketan, Vivekananda Mission Ashram. During this visit, two operated patients were reviewed, and Rotary provided transportation and logistical support.
